Mechanic/ Technician

a) General Scope of Authority and Organizational Position.

  1. Report directly to the Foreman & Job Controller.
  2. Performing jobs assigned according to standard procedures and ensures quality of jobs to be maintained.

 

b) Job Functions and Areas of Responsibility

  1. Do the job right the first time.
  2. Use all protective equipments to maintain cleanliness of customer vehicle. (Floor Mats, Seat & Fender Covers)
  3. Attend the briefing conduct by the Service Head/Manager.
  4. To ensure the safety & cleanliness of the workshop is maintained.
  5. Maintain an adequate inventory of hand tools to meet the service & repair requirements. 
  6. Ensure all customer request on the RO are completed to high quality standard. 
  7. Strive to complete all RO within the time allotted.
  8. To inform Job Controller / Foreman if any additional work necessary on any vehicle came in for service or repair.
  9. To ensure that all vehicles worked on are properly handled whenever vehicles are at the premises for repair or service.
  10. Clock on to personal time card upon arrival & off upon departure. 
  11. Maintain accurate clocking practices by clocking on & off every RO. 
  12. Maintain clean & professional appearance at all times.
  13. Transcribe clear accurate account of all work complete onto RO.
  14. To maintain the safety and cleanliness of the vehicles before and after the completion of service or repair.
  15. Perform work designed on the repair order according to standards and procedures given in the service manual and other literature approved / issued by HQ.
  16. Uses Special Service Tools when required to execute proper and accurate work where it is specified.
  17. Maintains neat and orderly work area. Maintains personal and shop tools in good condition. 
  18. Assign in on-job-training or supervision of helpers and new employees. Attends all required training sessions and meetings.
  19. Report to Foreman / Job Controller time of completion of jobs and description of work carried out.
  20. To ensure and maintain hand tools given in good condition and responsible for any lost of the tools.
  21. To inform the Job Controller / foreman if they unable to finish up the repair according to the estimated time.
  22. To ensure the approved new / warranty parts are being put into the vehicles.
  23. To return old parts to the customer after being repaired upon request by customers.
  24. To be prepared to work extra time, with responsible notice, as requested by the Service Center Manager.
  25. To ensure warranty parts being tagged properly and hand over to Job Controller.
